All the news are reporting that, the only reason that the Democrats loss is because the independent who voted for him switch to the republicans side. Which is totally inaccurate! Why do I say that? Well for one the issues this time really didn’t matter, who cares whose governor. That’s on a local level; people are worried about who can affect their lives in a big way. The truth is most of the young democrats in Virginia really don’t care who runs for governor, but what they do care about is who will fight for us, and by the way it’s looking it won’t be the Republicans. This Election has thought the young voters an important lesson; that if you don’t show up at the voting booths on Election Day, no one will represent you, and the opponent will win. We did a poll on 500 people who had voted for Obama back in the presidential election, and 75% of them said they didn’t vote. When ask why? 65% said they didn’t know what the issues were, 30% felt that Obama hasn’t been keeping up with his promises, 5% said they just didn’t feel like it. As for me, I didn’t vote either, both candidate were just lame to me. As for the next presidential election I’m still undecided, I simply feel that Obama is just not keeping his promise to the people who voted him in. He’s flip flop many times, just because this republican says this and that, he needs to worry about the people who voted him in. Time will tell if he will be a good president, He’s way better than the last one, smarter too.
